We are looking for an experienced Contract and Supplier Manager to join our Commercial Legal & Procurement team (“CLP”). S/he will report to the Team Lead responsible for CLP.

The European Stability Mechanism (“ESM”) is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries. It provides financial assistance to Members facing financing problems, and issues debt instruments to fund this financial support.

The ESM is a unique place to work with around 180 individuals committed to making a difference to the future of the euro area. It recruits talented professionals of any nationality from both the private and public sector.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collate input from relevant internal stakeholders to prepare supplier-related reports (supplier performance reports, reports on the ESM’s portfolio of outsourcing arrangements etc.);
  • Enhance and maintain standard reporting requirements, templates and processes related to contract and supplier management;
  • Enhance and maintain the ESM’s centralised contract database;
  • Maintain the ESM’s centralised database of lessons learned from outsourcing arrangements;
  • Contribute to the set-up of best practice supply arrangements which meet the expectations of the ESM, including effective financial, commercial, and performance management mechanisms;
  • Advise on contractual ordering mechanisms, KPIs, penalties and other elements relevant to the management and monitoring of supply contracts;
  • Support oversight of the performance of key suppliers;
  • Contribute to the monitoring of contracts and the initiation of necessary steps for contract renewals, extensions, or new procurement procedures;
  • Provide the secretariat of the ESM’s Sourcing Committee.

KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant university degree; a degree or certification in supplier management or contract law would be an asset;
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in contract and/or supplier management;
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of contract and supplier management, preferably including in the area of IT, facility management, HR, financial services, or consultancy services;
  • Proven track record in the preparation of contract and supplier-related reports and the enhancement of standard reporting requirements, templates, and processes related to contract and supplier management;
  • Proven track record in supporting the set-up of best practice supply arrangements, including effective financial, commercial, and performance management mechanisms;
  • Proven track record in enhancing and maintaining databases in the area of contract and supplier management;
  • Good understanding of the institutional and political framework in which the ESM operates;
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.

Contract duration: 2- to 3-year fixed term contract
