Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping.
Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards and supports producers.
This is a new position in a newly created Global Impact unit to ensure that Fairtrade International makes the most of its information and knowledge management assets to deliver value and impact. The Head of Information & Knowledge provides technical and professional leadership of information and knowledge management across the Fairtrade System and ensure that effective delivery of centrally managed information and knowledge management services.
Information and knowledge management in Fairtrade International will undergo major change over the next three to five years with the implementation of a holistic data strategy aimed at embedding information and knowledge management in the business and developing the digital capability of the business to manage its information appropriately, to mitigate information risks, to collaborate and share knowledge effectively, and to maximize the value of its information assets.
