In Milan, we have a team of experienced market researchers whom we work with regularly in our EU studies, including on focus groups (online and on-site), surveys (CATI, CAWI, in person), mystery shopping exercises and other data collection and analysis activities.
In Brussels, we have a high-profile, expanding project portfolio including legal research, evaluations and impact assessments, economic and market studies, expert advice and implementation. We work regularly with DG GROW, MOVE, JUST, CHAFEA, COMP, ENVI, EMPL, ENER, REFORM, the GSA and the European Parliament. We also run projects for many other agencies and institutions within the EU and for national administrations across EU Member States.
What we look for:
Our success is due to our excellent consultants and researchers and we are now looking to strengthen our team further with an International Business Development Director - Market Research focused on the development of our EU based international market research practice.
The International BD Director will be responsible for at least the following three areas:
- Developing and managing all market research work in EU calls for tender/proposal carried out by our Brussels based public policy team;
- Developing VVA’s presence in additional EU tenders/calls that are focused on market research activities of qualitative and/or quantitative nature;
- Develop our market research business at a European/Global level outside EU calls for tender/proposal (e.g. international organisations, national administrations, private sector).
To do this, the International Business Development Director will:
- work closely with the partners of our existing market research practice in Milan to define our international value proposition in the field of market research;
- support the company in the development and management of international market research projects, in cooperation with the team of qualitative and quantitative researchers in Milan and Brussels;
- Contribute to the delivery of all aspects of our market research projects including:
- Designing and implementing project level data search and collection strategies (desk research and statistical data, surveys, interviews, case studies, focus groups, …);
- Independent drafting of reports and proposals;
- Relations with client, partner and stakeholders;
- Leading projects and coordinating staff including briefing, reviewing and coaching; and
- Meeting project deadlines and ensuring high quality contributions.
What we need:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in an international market research role, part of which directing a team of researchers and/or leading a business account/practice;
- Fluent (written & spoken) English and Italian;
- Great analytical skills and ability to make the results of the analysis relevant to clients;
- Experience with designing, leading and implementing stakeholder consultation and engagement strategies;
- Strong managerial and organisational skills especially in the context of collaborative team work;
- Brilliant communication and conflict resolution skills in a multi-national context;
- Strong self-motivation and independence;
- Preferred:
- An MSc in statistics, economics, or a related field;
- A demonstrated interest in EU public policy.
