COCIR is looking for an Innovation and Advocacy Manager.

COCIR is the European Trade Association representing the medical imaging, health ICT and electromedical industries; see www.cocir.org for more information. Founded in 1959, COCIR is a non-profit association headquartered in Brussels (Belgium) with a China Desk based in Beijing since 2007.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional who has a passion for healthcare, research and innovation to fill this newly created role.

This position is full time and based in Brussels.

Expected Starting Date: The position is open to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities & Tasks

This position supports the activities of the Research, Innovation and Funding Committee at COCIR. Working with the Research & Innovation Senior Manager the main responsibilities and tasks include:

Funding and Innovation

  • Actively monitor new information related to EU funding programmes, with a particular focus on programmes for research and innovation;
  • Coordinate COCIR activities & positions related to research & innovation funding;
  • Represent COCIR in operational discussions with partner associations and the European Commission;
  • Ensure information dissemination and internal communication about funding opportunities;
  • Support COCIR activities related to the Innovative Health Initiative, when necessary.

Procurement, Deployment, and Investment

  • Coordinate the broader COCIR positioning and advocacy on health systems resilience and financial sustainability;
  • Advocate for policies supporting the adoption of new technologies, practices and equal patient access to quality healthcare;
  • Contribute to the structured dialogue on the due implementation of the EU HTA Regulation for medical devices - i.e., methodologies and data requirements for evidence generation in radiotherapy;
  • Coordinate with National Trade Associations (NTAs), other COCIR Committees and the European Medical Technology Developers' Associations.

Advocacy

  • Prepare high-level meetings with external stakeholders and public events;
  • Prepare communication documents such as newsletters, press releases etc.

Profile

  • You are passionate about healthcare, specifically the medical technology sector, and have a strong interest in European funding programmes for research and innovation;
  • You are highly organized, with high attention to detail; project management experience would be an asset;
  • You have the proven ability to understand, appreciate and communicate complex legal and technical issues;
  • You have previous experience related to public funding of research & innovation, ideally at European level and related to healthcare;
  • You understand the environment of the European institutions as it relates to research and innovation;
  • You have a master’s degree in a relevant field for this position;
  • You have relevant work experience of at least 3 years;
  • You are fluent in English and able to communicate in at least one other EU language;
  • You are a team player with excellent networking skills;
  • You understand the environment of a membership organisation; previous experience in a trade association is of added value.
