Position:

EU-CORD is embarking on a new initiative to redefine partnership dynamics through the Partnerships Survey Project. This initiative aims to engage national implementation partners and EU-CORD members in a collaborative effort to enhance our understanding of partnership dynamics.

Primary Role: We seek a motivated intern to support this survey's development, implementation, and analysis. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that fosters equitable and impactful partnerships.

Secondary Role: EU-CORD has a very small secretariat, and assisting the secretariat in other work areas – especially communications – would be a secondary role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing the survey tool and methodology, ensuring inclusiveness, equity, and relevance;
  • Support the data collection process through the online survey platform and assist in the follow-up procedure to encourage full participation;
  • Participate in the questionnaire design process, incorporating feedback and ensuring questions are equitable and free of assumptions about power dynamics;
  • Helped organise and conduct pilot tests of the survey questions to assess their effectiveness;
  • Assist with the data analysis, ensuring an objective assessment of partnership dynamics, effectiveness, and equity;
  • Contribute to producing tailored Partnership Reports and the Benchmark Report, offering actionable insights and recommendations;
  • Support ethical considerations and privacy protection throughout the survey process. Profile.

You are interested in the broad field of international development and are particularly interested in discussions of the evolving relationships in NGO partnerships. You have some prior background in survey design and report writing and are looking for an opportunity to advance this interest.

We also look for:

  • Alignment with EU-CORD's mission and values;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Previous experience with survey design, data collection, and analysis;
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the challenges and nuances of partnerships across different contexts;
  • Good people skills and written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. French of Spanish is an asset;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated interest in partnerships, development work and the localisation agenda;
  • Eligibility to work in the EU/Belgium.
