The European LPG association, Liquid Gas Europe, is the representative body of the LPG industry at European level, representing national LPG Associations as well as distributors and equipment manufacturers from across Europe.

LPG, coming both from conventional and renewable sources, is an immediately available low carbon alternative, which offers significant environmental advantages, particularly in terms of indoor and out door air quality. Easily transportable and very versatile, LPG is the fuel of choice for millions of residential, commercial and industrial users across Europe, mainly in areas where the natural gas grid is not available.

Liquid Gas Europe is looking for an Energy and Environment Policy Manager, to be based in Brussels. He/she will be in charge of a wide range of advocacy projects and activities. The right candidate must be a creative advocacy professional with a hands-on attitude, with a passion to engage both external and internal audiences, having an experience in energy and/or environment policies.

Main Duties/Tasks

  • Monitor all legislative and regulatory developments of relevance to the LPG industry, e.g. EU and national legislation on climate change, air quality, energy efficiency, renewable energy, etc.;
  • Devise and execute overall advocacy strategies, in direct cooperation with members, and act as representative of the industry in all relevant fields;
  • Build relationships with key policy and business stakeholders;
  • Coordinate and steer the work of internal working groups dedicated to policy;
  • Take the lead in drafting documents aimed at internal/external communications on all policy questions relevant to LPG and renewable LPG;
  • Assist members with enquiries related to relevant policies and regulations, as well as other related matters such as technology or market trends.

Profile and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Very good understanding of the structure of the EU institutions and the legislative processes;
  • Keen interest in energy and environment policies. Prior knowledge from a relevant industry such as heating, building, energy retail, renewable fuels, etc. is a plus;
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills and preferably at least one other European language;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage projects;
  • Result oriented and innovative mind set;
  • Last but not least, a healthy dose of humour and a genuine team spirit!
