Our evaluation work focuses on interventions in a wide range of policy areas including communication, fisheries, justice and home affairs, taxation and customs, foreign policy, enterprise and industry, employment and social affairs, education and culture, health and consumer affairs, research and technological development and transport. Tetra Tech’s Evaluation and Research Practice is also active in the field of international development, although this opportunity is to support our EU team and will be focused on supporting clients in the EU institutions.

THE POSITION

We are looking for enthusiastic Junior Consultants located in Warsaw to support our EU Team with junior research tasks. We are looking for individuals with an interest in evaluating European public policy, programmes and actions and some experience of research and implementation to support our work for the EU institutions. Applicants need to be team players with a positive can-do attitude, a strong analytical mind and a commitment to professionalism. Applicants must have an excellent level of English (C1 or above), as the successful candidate will be required to draft documents, reports and emails in English.

Applications from individuals with a legal background and/or a background in transport policy and climate change are particularly welcomed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing support to our EU Team in the delivery of research and evaluation work;
  • Carrying out research-support tasks, including by undertaking desk research and conducting interviews;
  • Analysing qualitative and quantitative data from interviews and online surveys, including preparing charts and graphs to illustrate results;
  • Drafting research findings and contributing to high-quality reports;
  • Helping to grow the business by contacting experts, preparing CVs and supporting the preparation of tenders.

We are offering successful candidates the opportunity to contribute to research in a wide range of European public policy areas. Our Junior Consultants are given opportunities to develop their understanding of social research tools and techniques to support the design of evaluation methodologies, data collection and analysis, and work closely with the EU institutions. The successful candidate will be located in Warsaw and provide support to our wider team of consultants based in Warsaw, Amsterdam, London and Brussels, who conducting evaluation, monitoring and research tasks for our EU clients.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential attributes

  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Good writing and analytical skills, and an understanding of different quantitative and qualitative social research techniques and methods;
  • Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, and meet tight deadlines;
  • A Masters degree in a relevant field;
  • Excellent command of the English (C1 level or above) and at least one other EU language.

Desirable attributes

  • Experience in a specific policy area, in particular experience or interest in EU mobility and transport policy;
  • In-depth knowledge of, and ideally previous experience of working with, the EU institutions; knowledge of EU decision making process;
  • Experience of working in an international setting;
  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment.
