For already 50 years, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel has stood for freedom, equality and connectedness. These values are strongly present on our campuses, in our students as well as our staff. At the VUB, you’ll find a diverse collection of personalities: pure innovators and especially people who are 100% their authentic selves. With about 3.500 employees, we are the largest Dutch-speaking employer in Brussels, an international city with which we are all too happy to be connected, and around which our four campuses are located. The VUB is a member of EUTOPIA, an alliance of 10 European universities that aim to become an open, multicultural, confederation of connected campuses by 2025.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel is looking for an advisor (m/f/x) to strengthen its European Liaison Office (ELO) team. You advise and guide VUB researchers in submitting and conducting fundamental research in the context of the European Research Council (ERC) and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) calls of the Horizon Europe programme, in particular in the context of the EUTOPIA University alliance. In this way you contribute on the one hand to the realization of the strategic objectives of the R&D department, and on the other to the development of the research arm of EUTOPIA, with a focus on strengthening our position in the European framework program Horizon Europe, pillar “excellent science”.
You are part of the “European Liaison Office” team within the R&D department of the VUB. For this position you will be employed at the Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus in Ixelles. You follow an on-boarding process and work closely with the 3 other ELO members and the ELO coordinator. You work together with the various partners of the EUTOPIA network of which VUB is a member.
Are you going to be our new colleague? You’ll be offered a permanent/temporary full-time/part-time contract at a salary depending on your competences and previous relevant work experience.
At the VUB, you’re guaranteed an open, involved and diverse workplace where you are offered opportunities to (further) build on your career. As well as this, you’ll enjoy various benefits:
