Policy Officer Drug Repurposing

ACF - Anticancer Fund

Meise, Belgium

Background

The Anticancer Fund (ACF) is a Belgian public benefit research foundation with an international reach, based in Meise near Brussels.

Drug repurposing is a key focus area of the ACF with activities ranging from funding clinical trials to making recommendations for policy changes at national and international levels. The European Commission has committed to supporting two European innovation platforms around drug repurposing. REpurposing MEDIcines For All (REMEDI4ALL), a collaboration of 24 European partners including the ACF, is one of the platforms selected. While REMEDI4ALL will encompass all aspects of the repurposing approach in a goal-oriented and patient-centric approach, the ACF will specifically focus on the clinical development, regulatory environment and funding models for repurposed medicines in Europe. Working closely together with research funders and the patient community, REMEDI4ALL will engage and support a substantial user base from both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.

To strengthen its policy work, the ACF is looking for a policy officer who will focus on drug repurposing and REMEDI4ALL.

Description of the role

The policy officer will be responsible for providing ACF’s contribution to REMEDI4ALL. Within REMEDI4ALL, our new colleague will ensure timely delivery of projects goals and milestones in collaboration with other project partners.

In addition, she/he will contribute to other policy-related drug repurposing activities within the ACF, such as applying and contributing to European projects and following up on other international initiatives (UK and US mainly).

The ideal candidate has therefore a strong interest in European (regulatory) affairs, drug repurposing and drug development.
