SEMI Europe has an exciting opportunity for an EU-Project Manager with experience in European projects such as Erasmus+ , Horizon Europe or alike. As project manager you will be responsible for the management and implementation of two Erasmus + projects, one of which SEMI Europe is coordinating. You will work closely with our project and public policy management team in Brussels and our communications team in Berlin. Our projects are focused on the future of tech: semiconductors and microelectronics. In this role you will work with cutting edge partners from industry and the world of education and contribute to the future of skills development in Europe.

This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of Public Policy and Advocacy in the SEMI Europe Brussels office.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage EU-funded projects at the intersection of emerging technologies, skills, business development and public policy;
  • Organize project meetings, workshops & project events (conferences, sessions, webinars)across Europe;
  • Draft background documents ( including deliverables, project and meeting reports);
  • Liaise with and mobilize project consortia for the optimal implementation of projects;
  • Communicate with the EC funding authorities and project officers;
  • Coordinate with our financial consultant to ensure sound financial management and reporting of the projects;
  • Liaise with our communications team to edit, update and maintain communication channels, such as websites and other knowledge pooling platforms for assigned projects
  • Track project developments/ deliverables and ensure cross-regional collaboration with communications/operations teams within SEMI Europe and with other SEMI global offices;
  • Provide logistical support to the projects;
  • Identify new funding opportunities and assist with the drafting of new EU project proposals.

What you will do:

You will be managing a European Sector Skills Alliance project on the skills gap in the microelectronics sector. In general the EU-Project Manager is tasked with coordinating and management tasks in EU-funded projects related to skills development and R&D. S/he will work closely with project partners, SEMI colleagues and SEMI members, ensuring the smooth execution of the projects. Through the implementation of the projects, s/he will also enhance the visibility of SEMI, and contribute to new business opportunities by positioning microelectronics in the EU sphere.

Foundational Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in managing activities and consortia within EU funded projects (management of work packages or alike);
  • General experience in proactively managing project teams, ensuring the timely delivery of results including timely reporting to EC funding authorities;
  • Fluency in English, excellent verbal and written communication (other languages are a plus);
  • Experience with Sector Skills Alliances, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme is a plus;
  • Knowledge of EU-funding guidelines is a plus (including experience with EU-Funding & Tenders portal);
  • Proposal drafting skills is a plus;
  • Certifications is project management such as PRINCE2 or PMI’s PMP are considered an advantage.
